The research in Information Systems (IS) aiming at to understand Computing as a means or instrument for solving problems in the real world, society and organizations. This area presents an applied and multidisciplinary feature, which makes it a challenge, requiring a deeper reflection not only on the constructed technologies but also on their unfolding, when applied in real problems.
The Brazilian Symposium on Information Systems (SBSI), currently with Qualis Conferência B2, is the annual meeting of the IS community of the Computational Brazilian Society (SBC), constituting an event to present scientific papers and discuss topics of IS, bringing together students, researchers, professionals and entrepreneurs related to Information Systems.
In its 14th edition, SBSI 2018 will take place in the city of Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, under the coordination of the Department of Exact Sciences and Engineering of the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS). The theme of the event is " Information Systems: A social, sustainable and business perspective". It will discuss the advances and perspectives in IS considering its multidisciplinary feature and its applications on aspects related to Social Business. Social Business is understood, in a very brief way, a management practice that applies characteristics of social networks and social tools in the administration of an organization, valuing the personal connections through different systems in their business.
The main goal of the event is to promote discussions in the area of Information Systems (IS) considering all its multidisciplinary feature and applications in the most different areas of knowledge. This edition of the event will have as its theme "Information Systems: a social, sustainable and business perspective", discussing aspects related to Social Business.
