The PPGA-UCS faculty brings together professionals with degrees from renowned institutions, enabling research on emerging themes and bringing the student body closer to knowledge generated in the most diverse parts of the world, giving them the opportunity to follow the evolution of knowledge and research in their areas of scope.

Objectives

  • Training human resources for teaching, research and extension in the area of Business Administration.
  • Training human resources to work at management and leadership levels in organizations.

With a contemporary vision of the academic world and the strength of a faculty with national and international recognition, the Graduate Program in Business Administration - PPGA at the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS) presents itself as a distinguished course. Its main feature is to establish a balance between the academic world and the business environment, in addition to interacting with the community (public and private sectors) in order to generate and disseminate relevant knowledge, capable of being applied to its context; seeking, scientifically, the endogenous production of solutions that make the process of regional development positive and sustainable. The program's pedagogical strategy, based on a pragmatic approach, constitutes what sets the Master's and PhD courses apart, allowing convergence between academic research and a practical purpose. To this end, the PPGA encourages convergence between two competency profiles, generating high-level stakeholders who will act as managers or experts specialized in identifying and implementing solutions to complex organizational problems, training teachers and researchers capable of developing a realistic and pragmatic vision of business management as well as using a rigorous approach in analyzing organizational problems. The academic orientation of the PPGA favors the transfer of knowledge to the practical context, considering the importance attributed to the application of knowledge, the resolution of organizational problems and decision-making. The Dissertation, or Thesis, encourages students to carry out rigorous research, thus contributing to the advance of knowledge in management and its transfer to the organizational environment. This orientation makes it possible to ensure the relevance of the research to the world of management. Furthermore, the international nature of the PPGA favors learning and access to knowledge, experiences and research carried out in different parts of the world.
